Animated Digital Wedding Invitation
A project by Emmanuel Ngene, full-stack developer.
// Overview
What AdeEmeka Wedding Invitation is
Amar Surprises & Event Decoration, a surprise and event planner in Enugu, reached out to me to design a website for her client's wedding: a digital invitation guests open on their phones that feels as special as a paper card in the post.
// My role
What I built
I designed and built it in Next.js with GSAP animations. Guests land on a sealed envelope with a wax-seal monogram and their own name on it; one tap pops the seal, swings the flap open in 3D, slides the card out in a burst of petals and starts the music. Inside are the couple's photos, a live countdown, both events with directions, add-to-calendar and an RSVP form — mobile-first, keyboard accessible and gentle on reduced-motion settings.
// Key Features
Highlights
- Animated envelope opening: wax seal, 3D flap, sliding card and canvas petal burst
- Personalised links that print each guest's name on the envelope
- Photo gallery with lightbox, live countdown and background music
- Google Maps directions, .ics and Google Calendar export, and an RSVP flow
- Custom WhatsApp link preview, fast first load on mobile data
